aaaaaaack! things are just beyond busy these days! where to begin?
pete's folks were up visiting us over columbus day weekend, and then some. it was a nice visit...the weather was perfect, and they enjoyed spending time with aubrey. pete's pop helped us finish up some projects around the house, which was a big help. all in all, a good visit.
pete left for seattle for a conference the day his parent's left, and was gone for almost a week. so i was on full duty with missy. all week long she was a royal pain in the butt about going to bed. she is going through a "clingy phase," and i'm wondering if part of the clingyness involves fear of being left along at bedtime? i dunno, but it's been over a week of crying herself to sleep and it is definitely wearing on me. sigh.
my last week at the firm was pretty sh*tty. the partners pretty much ignored me. on my last day the "ladies downstairs" gave me flowers and told me they felt badly for me...for the way i've been treated. i finished up my projects, worked until the last minute, and high-tailed it outta there. i don't feel great about the way things shook out with the firm. oh well. time to move on.
this past weekend missy and i traveled down to the cape and stayed with my grandparents. pete met us on saturday (he caught a flight to boston and took a bus to the cape) and saturday night we threw a birthday party for me mum. she was mostly surprised and a very good sport about the whole thing.
i am at my new gig....sooooooooo different! too much to write about right now. i think it's going to be a very good thing, but i have so much to learn and get up to speed on. and of course...pete is off on another business trip. he left this morning for ann arbor. thankfully, he should be back tomorrow night.
in short, craziness. i sure do hope missy goes to sleep easily tonite. i'm not counting on it, tho. oh yeah, and speaking of the little miss...she has a firm grasp of the proper use of the word "no." we are no-ing a lot these days.
